What types of counseling do you offer?

Children's Counseling

Children's Counseling - We have a counseling room that is designed specifically for children.

Play therapy, art therapy, and sand therapy are all used in this room as a tool for the counselors to utilize with the kids.

Couple's Counseling

We offer counseling to those couples who are experiencing difficulty within their relationship or are seeking help to make sure that their marriage begins on a positive note.

Grief Counseling

Grief comes in all forms. We often think that grief is only experienced when we have lost a loved one. However, grief takes place anytime you experience a significant loss of any kind. The loss of a relationship, career, pet, or any other form of loss can put you into the cycle of grief.

General Counseling

All of us have dealt with life issues that have produced stress, anxiety and depression. Sometimes, it takes a neutral listening ear to help us sort out and work through those issues.

What is the cost of a session?

Our fees are based on a sliding scale based on household income. Our scale starts at $30 and our highest fee is $80.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

The first appointment is an assessment and is approximately an hour to an hour and a half long. This is a time of gathering current information, history, and goals for moving forward.

How long is treatment?

Treatment lengths can vary therefore, we do not have a set time frame. The length of treatment will be discussed with your counselor and will partially depend on your participation in sessions.

Will I feel better and see improvement right away?

Everyone responds to counseling differently, so we always remind people mental healing takes time. You are talking and working through issues that are difficult so it's not uncommon to feel worse before you feel better. You just have to remember that healing and progress do come.

The rate of improvement will be a direct reflection of the effort you put into the techniques, tools and steps that you talk about with your counselor. It is much like going to a physician, if you leave the office and have no plan on following the advice that the Dr. gave, you will find yourself with the same issues you walked in with.
